Upper School
Welcome to Caravel Academy’s Upper School! Caravel Academy is a family of learners. Just visit our picturesque campus and you will find a welcoming atmosphere where student and faculty pride, spirit, and mutual appreciation abound!
A vibrant and dynamic learning community is celebrated at Caravel Academy. Student talents are supported and nurtured by a tremendously professional and skilled faculty. Students are led to discover their passions, whether it is in the classroom, on the athletic field, on the stage, in the art room, behind a microphone, or in the band. Students can truly discover their potential at Caravel Academy.
While we offer a diverse and challenging course of study, we encourage students to not only fulfill graduation requirements but also to achieve personal excellence through a rigorous course load and immersion in a broad curriculum that includes many honors and AP classes.
Upper School students extend their learning beyond their classroom by completing 20 service hours per year. While the completion of service hours is a requirement of the Upper School, the benefits to the students and the greater community are clear. Students gain an awareness and appreciation for serving others, and many of our students continue their volunteer efforts well beyond their high school years.
Our continual commitment to improving our facilities can be seen in our new 600-wing. This beautiful space includes two state-of-the art science labs and spacious classrooms equipped with SMART Board technology. Our new cafeteria is a large open space where students can purchase healthy lunches and groups can convene for assemblies, banquets, and other special events. In addition, continual maintenance of our athletic fields has made them some of the best in the state of Delaware. All of these improvements are made in an effort to promote an optimal environment in which upper school students can thrive.
Come visit Caravel Academy’s Upper School, and you will see why it is such a special place. Students feel at home and are actively engaged in their learning. While our mission is to ultimately prepare students for college, Caravel Academy’s Upper School also inspires students to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and supportive community.
